Where is the EMPATHY?

I'm so, so, so, SO sick of being sick. I never get sick! This is the worst cold that I have ever been subject to in my seventeen year old life! I hope it leaves before Monday morning...

Survival of the most clutsy.

If I didn't earn Cluts of the year award before... then I sure have it now. I've been at Girls Camp for the past three days, and it was the most DISASTROUS girls camp of my life. It was SO much fun... but it seems like I got hurt every time I turned around.

Tuesday. - So, Tuesday was great. :) We left at about 9:30 a.m. from the church, and headed to the ranch. When we got there, we took everything to our rooms, and found out who we shared with. Taylor, Courtney and I had a room to ourselves. :) Holler. haha. Then we split up into group A and Group B... I was in Group A so we did a craft... this is where my first injury comes in! I had a hot glue gun, and I was trying to glue some red diamonds onto a hat..... I ended up hot gluing my finger. NOT OKAY. I had a blister the size of Texas! It was seriously SO bad... It has to be a third degree burn... the glue was on my skin for at least 60 seconds... it was terrible. After that, we went horse back riding... longest ride of my life! hah. The area was SO beautiful though. It looks nothing like St. George does. It's Green, and... definitely not a desert. hahah. I loved it. Next we ate Dinner, and after that we had Testimony meeting (Weird that it was on the first day, right?). Testimony meeting is always my favorite part of girls camp. I love it so, so much. It was really great.

Wednesday - So Wednesday, we had workshops as our first activity. Phoebe gave a workshop on manners, Amy gave a workshop on modesty, and Candace gave a workshop on picking your future spouse. They were all SO much fun, and really great to hear. :) Next we had an Archery course, and this is where we met Duke... ohhhh goodness. Duke was just great. I feel bad for his poor soul for having to put up with our ward hahah. Duke is a super cute ranch hand that works at Rockin' R. He was in charge of us while we were at the archery course. We have some VERY flirty girls in my ward, so someone was always talking to him. hahah. We got a little bored, and hot doing the Archery course, so we decided to go swimming in the pond. :) I blew up my inner tube, and we used the canoes, and we had tons of fun. :) After that we went floating down the river... it took forrrreverr, but it was totally worth it. :) After the river we had our rodeo... and by this time, I wasn't feeling so hot at all. I knew I had a little bit of sun poisoning, and I had been coughing up a storm all day... not cool. None the less, I tried to jump up on a horse for the relay race.... and I popped my giant blister from the day before. talk about PAINFUL! Oh my gosh, I felt like I was going to die... I went and slapped a couple of band aids on it, and called it good... but I still did  not feel great at all hah. After our rodeo we had a dance... The dance, and after the dance are probs the most hilarious parts of Girls camp EVER... okay, so at the dance, Court and I were dared by our leaders to go and wrangle ourselves a couple of cowboys to dance... and they said that they would give each of us $10.00 if we did it. So after about 20 minutes of contemplating whether we were really going to do it or not... we decided it was worth it... so we walked up to this group of four boys, and Courtney starts asking them about Jitterbugging, or something like that... and I could see that this conversation was going south, because one of the boys pointed to another guy out on the floor, and said "He knows how to." ha... Okay, so I'm not the kind of person who takes no for an answer.... so I said "So do you want to dance with us, or what?" and they did.... hah! Greatest and most awkward thing of my LIFE! But we earned $10.00 out of it. :) hahah. After our awk. dance, we went snipe hunting... it's seriously one of the funnest things about Girls Camp... Sniping this year was the most EMBARRASSING thing of my life... no joke. So I have a flash light, right? And I got to lead the hunt this year, so I had the paper bag in my hand, and I started running up this hill... and I ran through this really tall grass... and the next thing I know... I'm falling.... off a CLIFF! And then I'm in a RIVER/DRAIN! What the HECK?! It's completely something that only I could manage to do... it was so embarrassing and hilarious... hah.

Thursday - The only thing that really happened on Thursday was we drove home... and it seemed like FOREVER, because I was soooo sick. Boo.

So it ended up being one of the best, but most dangerous years of Girls Camp Ever. Loved it.

I miss that.

Lately I've been facebook photo reminiscing. I've also been reading my past journal entries, and looking at our old family photo albums. I realized that I really miss the way things used to be.

Grandpa - I miss my Grandpa a lot. It's been a long time since he passed away, but I still remember being with him like it was just yesterday. I remember the "Grandpa's little baby" song, and I remember when he used to tell me the story of the three little pigs. Instead of yawning, he would yell OOOOOOO-PAHHH. Kind of like a greek person at a party haha. Every wednesday night during the winter and fall months, my grandma and my mom would go out shopping, and my dad, Emily, my Grandpa, and I would stay at home with Ice Cream Sundaes and the board game Clue. My Grandpa was ALWAYS Mr. Plum. I miss going up to the old house in Salt Lake. I miss my horsey Swing. I miss the apple trees... but most of all I miss the Art Studio where my Grandpa kept all of his painting and Architecture supplies. I miss the way that my Grandpa would always say "Forgive and Forget" whenever anything happened. After my Grandpa passed away our family fell apart a little... The last time I saw most of my cousins was at my Grandpa's Funeral. My Grandpa was the greatest person ever, next to my dad. He was Student Body President, Q.B., he worked in the Air Force, he was an Architect, a Painter, a Miner, a Husband, and a Father. I think I get most of my personality from my Grandpa. I wish he were still alive, because I know he would be really proud of all of the things I've done. He always wanted to play the violin... I think that's why my mom pushed me into it so hard (I'm glad she did BTW). I miss my Grandpa a lot.

The Quad - Believe it or not, I miss the Quad A LOT! I look back and remember all of the fun times that Caity, Myrranda, Ashley, and I had! I wish that Cait and I were still close friends with Mynie and Whipplash... High School would be so different! I would never trade the friends that I have now, but I wish that I still had some of the same friends that I had in Middle School.

Buena Vista 2nd Ward - I miss my old house. I miss my old ward. I miss being a little kid! I'm so sad that my childhood home has been destroyed by the people who owned it after my family. It was PERFECT when I lived there. I miss being able to jump the fence to the Bice's house. I miss the Clubhouse, I miss picnics at the pond. I miss night games. I miss our boat. I even miss the blue padlock that was always on the wooden gate leading into the back yard. I miss the misters on the patio, I miss the shed, I miss the attic... Again, I love where I live now... SO much, and I would never DREAM of living anywhere else, but I miss the simplicity of being a little kid. I miss that a lot.

Sports - I really miss playing sports. I started out with Soccer when I was a little kid, then moved onto Softball, then Volleyball, then Golf! Sports were so much fun! I wish that they didn't take up SO much time in High School... otherwise I would probably still be playing.

... I miss a lot of things. I hate the fact that when we grow we have to leave things behind. I wish that I would never lose any friends. I wish that I could grow, and stay the same at the same time... but I know that's impossible. Memory is one of the best gifts that we've been given. We never really have to leave anything behind.

Something good can work.

Stalk up Jammin's photos on the Photog. Blog.

Fiddlin' ... not such a good idea.

So..... I think I jumped the gun when I started practicing my fiddle again. I've been playing it for a half an hour here or there for the past few days, and my wrist KILLS every time I stop. Now whenever I move it, it feels stiff and hurts sooo bad. With work, playing, and practicing the violin I think I've just outdone what my wrist can do. My wrist has NEVER hurt before this past Monday... It first started hurting at leadership camp... not even my brace made it feel better... hopefully this will go away! I hope I didn't damage anything new.... STUPID SKYPE BONE!

It's too late. You've got another one comin' and it's gonna be the same...

New/Old crowd? Fine. ♥ Live it, Love it, Leave it.

Ridicule from a Blogger.

I finally updated the Photog. Blog. :) I got all of the Senior and family photos posted! Stalk it up!

I'll be updating this a lot more... :)

Promise.

I win.

Sometimes you just have better things to do with your time. ♥

Tri-pod Love. ♥

Who says I can't take my own Senior Portraits?

Over the past month I've been seriously, SERIOUSLY thinking, and stressing about my senior portraits. I know who I really want to take them, but there is no way I could afford to hire him. Yesterday while I was waiting for a family to get to a photo shoot location, I pulled out my tri-pod and snapped a couple of shots, just to see if I could do it. I'm actually a little bit impressed with myself. :) Granted... it took me about five times as long to take one photo as it normally would for me to take about ten... but at least the ones I took were decent. :) I think I'm going to try and take my own senior photos! Hopefully I'll be able to get some great ones when my family goes to California in a couple of weeks. That would be the ideal spot! Some of the great things I've realized about taking my own photos are... I can get every season, pick as many outfits as I want, and as many locations as I want. :) Wish me luck!

Employed much?

Helloooo. So I had my interview, and it went FANTASTICALLY. I could have never asked for a better one! As you can probs tell from the photo, my interview was for a position at Payless. :) One of my fav. stores ever! At the end of the interview, the woman asking me questions asked me when I could start. :) I was sooo stoked. I had to tell her that I'll be gone the next couple of weeks, but she didn't mind at all! I officially start on August 2nd. :) One of the best things is that the store I'm working at is right next to my grandma's condo, so I can stop by before, or after work. :) I was kind of bummed when I realized I needed to find a job for senior year, because I've never had to work while going to school before, but I think this will be so much fun! I'm nor worried at all. I guess I didn't jinx myself after all. :)

::Feature This:: I want to show you everything...

New Featured song! It's "Not in this Town" by Two Door Cinema Club. They are probs my favorite band EVER right now. I'm seriously looking at their show dates and thinking about going to see them.
I love this song SO much. I can be driving down the road with my sunglasses on, listening to this song, and it makes me feel cool. I don't care how nerdy it sounds... it's so true. I do it all the time. ♥

... It pours.

In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.

Whoa, yo....

I live to be busy. ♥

You hid there last time, you know we're gonna find you...

I'm sooo stoked for this next week. :) I'm going to leadership camp with most of the 2011-2012 Exec. team. It's going to be so boss! I've already started to pack, that's how excited I am! Let me give you an edited itinerary of the things I'm the most excited for...

- Monday-
Classes
Mix n' Mingle

-Tuesday-
Adjusting the Lenses (I haven't a clue what this is... but the title intrigues ... )
Ropes Course!
Fugitive (I'll win this hard.)

-Wednesday-
Thor's Amazing Race

I'm so completely stoked to go! I am puuuuumped. :) I'm totes prepared to have my camera by my side at all moments of the day. :) It's going to be gr8 to get to know all of the other kids on Exec. even better than I already know them... I'm stoked to meet kids from other schools too! I'm totes open to everything that comes my way this next week! It's going to be a great experience.

P.s. I get to drive up to Cedar myself. :) The 'rents have only let me do this one time before, and it was to go camping in the breaks with the Richeson's and Caity.. I'm taking Clody, Whit and Chan with me. Party much? I think so. ♥

When life gives you lemons...

Working World - Work has officially started... It's not as terrid (Terrible/Horrid = Terrid = word I accidentally made up.) as I had anticipated it to be. Yes... it's completely long hours, and it's probs not what I really would desire to do with my time every day, but I feel like I really know my way around this year, and I have a new friend to work with! (If you worked there... you would understand. Let's just say, communication isn't the easiest.)

Bad to Good - This past week started out to be one of the worst weeks ever... I was feeling sorry for myself about a couple of things... and yesterday, I decided to get over it. It ended up not being a big deal at all. :) It has actually ended up to be a really great week. :) I booked a shoot for tomorrow morning, and I actually landed a job interview. :) I hope I don't jinx myself by writing it on here... It's one of the most perfect jobs for me at this point in my life... I think it would be awesss. (I'll elaborate at a later date... maybs.)

Today  - Today actually ended up being sooo amazing! Caity came down around 8:00 to hang out with me. We made a Pizza Factory/Swig run, and ate at the river. After the river, we decided to go to the temple... but on our way we got sidetracked, when we saw Clody in his snow shack. We stopped... and it was POURING so hard, that he let us inside. We were having a crazaeee fun time! The street was completely flooded! Cait and I got soaked outside... a jeep actually drove by and we had one of those "Car drives by and splashes people with mud/water" movie moments. It was way gr8 actually. We ended up playing, the three of us until around 11:30. It was so much fun! I loved playing in the rain and not caring how wet I got! It's only the second time I've been able to do that. :/ Def worth it. :)

Void the last post title. Thanks.

Note to self : Variety is better than repetition.

Something good can work.

I'm not tired.

One time I went to sleep for one hour, and then my frenns woke me up to play, then 30 minutes later, they decided to stop playing and go home to sleep, but I'm not tired! So here we go... I'm just going to write. I wonder what somethings are that you don't already know... I feel like I've written everything on here.

•VACATIONS•
Leadership Camp - I'm super stoked for Leadership camp. The whole Exec. team is going up to SUU to participate in workshops and fun activities for three days. It's going to be such an amazing experience! I wasn't able to attend last year's Leadership Camp because I was working, but I'm stoked to go this year! We're staying up in Cedar for the three days, and it's just going to be a blast! I cannot wait to go!

Girls Camp - Girls Camp is coming up right after Leadership Camp! It's going to be gr8. We're going to Rockin' R Ranch and we get to ride ATVs, horses, play, and just have fun! The only two Seniors that are going are Courtney and me, but that's okay. I wish Brinkerhoff could come, but she has another camp to go to. I'm super stoked! This is my last "official" year of G.C. even though I know I'm going to go next year. :)

Cali with my Family - My fam is taking a trip to San Diego during the last week in July. I'm super stoked. I've only ever been to California one time, and I loved it. I'm stoked to go back to the ocean, and to go to the Mormon Battalion museum... and there is also a PHOTOGRAPHY MUSEUM. I'm making my 'rents take me. If I have to sit through my dad's WWII museums, he can sit through my Ansel Adams and Dorothea Lang lectures. I bet he would enjoy it anyways...

•MUSIC•
Two Door Cinema Club - As of late I'm obsessed with some amazing bands! My favorite of the moment (as I'm sure you can tell from my playlist) is Two Door Cinema Club. They're kind of a beach rock mixture. They're super gr8.

Toy Bombs - I'm completely in love with Toy Bombs, thanks to my ventures to GoGo37 with my frennns. They're a really fun group, and they're not huge... which makes them even better. :)

M.J.♥ - I'm still loving the M.J. craze... it's just beautiful. I wish he were still alive to grace us with his musical geniusness. He really was great. The songs that he sings are sometimes really weird... but he performs them SO well. I think that's what made M.J. so great. Not the music that he sang, but how he sang it.

•SCHOOL•
Booo. I don't want to start classes yet... well besides Exec. I'm going to totally take it easy this next year. The only difficil class that I'm taking is going to be AP Lit, and I'm good at Language Arts, so it should be a piece of cake. :)

Orch. - I'm totally stoked to get back into Orchestra again... I miss playing my fiddle! I tried it yesterday, and my arm KILLED afterwards. It was terrible. It makes me so mad that I can't play the way that I used to. My vibrato leaves SO much to be desired, and that was my strong point. Hopefully I can build it back up again.

Flori Culture - I'm stoked for Flori-culture, mostly just because Bleak teaches it. I think it's going to be the officer class next year, which will be awesome! I'm so stoked for FFA. I just want to start planning Sadies right now! that's one of the funnest parts of the year!

Exec. - I'm completely and totally excited for Exec. I AM ON EXEC! It's so crazy to think... gahh! I'm one of the old, old, old, OLD kids now! I don't quite know how I feel about it...

I think that's enough for one night.

I'm tired.

No Regrets... just♥.

En la manana...

We be creepin'. :)

At least I got some...

Thursday night Maddie and I were invited to go stay the night in Pine Valley with Amy's family. :) It was so much fun! We played card games, rode Amy's rhino, went to an old general store, went into the PV Park, and played at the Veyo pool. It was a blast, and I hope we do it again! Next time, with all of the J&J's. :) Thanks for inviting me Amy!
