Who knew that there are no cupcake breaks when you're moving?

Dear Friends,
Summer so far has been such an amazing experience! I think I've gone to swig almost every single day so far... and Durango's only a little bit less! I went to the wedding of one of my teachers with Caity, I went 4-wheeling and tubing down the river with Chandler, I johned it up at Laurel retreat and Youth Conference with all of the Johners, I've had multiple parties at my house, and at the homes of my friends. I broke my arm, had two casts, got one of my casts signed my Cole from Toy Bombs, I WENT to a Toy Bombs concert, I swam a billion times, I hiked in Gunlock with the adventure Johns, Maddie and Miah, I went to visit Amy when she got her wisdom teeth out, I washed my car with Ashley, and both of us made an amazing cooking show with Miah. I went walking a bunch of times with Brinkerhoff, I said goodbye to one of the best friends that I've ever had, Elena, and this weekend I'm going to Pine Valley to play with Maddie and Amy!

I've had SUCH an amazing, and eventful summer... It's been the best Summer in a really long time. I'm writing all of this down... because I know that my Summer is coming to a fast close. When I start working for my Dad, Towels, Napkins, and clothing items will become my life. I'll have to wake up at 5:30 in the morning, and work for 8 hours all day, five days a week. I've done this for the past few Summers... and I know that this Summer will be no different. I'm going to be dead by the time I finish every day. I'm sooo mad that it's going to happen... but I know it will. Now that I look back on it, breaking my arm was a BLESSING. and a huge one. I got to spend half of my last Summer playing with my friends every single day. It's been so much fun, and I'm so happy about it! I'm glad that I get to go to work, because I really need to build up money for this next school year, but I'll miss playing with my friends every second of every day. Thanks to everyone who has been a part of my best Summer ever. ♥

How did this happen?

 ^Today                   Yesterday^
^Norm Thumb                 Awk Thumb^
First item of business : My hurrr is a different color! I've been waiting eight weeks do dye it! I'm really happy about how it turned out, I just hope that it lightens up a little bit. :)

Second item of business : My hair got really, really long all of the sudden! I'm not mad, but... weeeird! I haven't really straightened it in a couple of months (My arm was a huuuge handicap...) so I had no idea how long it really was! Not mad. :)

Third item of business : I have the awkest hands ever now! You can see what I mean in the photo above... I can't move my thumb past that point! Scary! It's so weird looking... ah! When I hold them up next to each other I just want to cry! I also tried to play my violin today... yeah, OUCH! It was the most painful thing that I've ever done in my life! I hope that my arm loosens up soon! I can feel myself loosing skill every single day... I'm afraid that by the time school gets back in, I'll completely forget how to play! (Not really.)

Lefty is back. :)

I got my final hard cast off today! I'm so, so, so happy about it! I'm actually typing with two hands right now... which is kind of a big deal. I hate chicken pecking it. I cannot believe that 8 weeks has already gone by! It's so crazy! I'm so happy that it's off. :) My radius, and ulna are almost completely healed... but my skype bone still has a way to go... I have to wear a wrist brace, that restricts my thumb. It will be a pain, but at least I can take it off! FREEDOM!

A dream is a wish...

"What if you slept?
And what if,
In your sleep
You dreamed?
And what if,
In your dream,
You went to Heaven
And there plucked
A strange and
Beautiful flower?
And what if,
When you awoke,
You had the flower
In your hand?
Ah, what then?"

Samuel Taylor Coleridge

Dreams are only as real as you make them.

You can't live life being second best.

Examples are being thrown my way every second of every day lately. My parents, my friends, my sister, my young women's leaders, the categories are endless. I have been given examples of service, spiritual-ness, strength, wisdom... so many things! I am so blessed to be surrounded by so many good people. They teach me how to be a better person every single day.

Life is short. Summer is shorter.

Tonight was SUCH a great night. :) I went to see Toy Bombs and a few other bands at GoGo37. It was SO much fun! I love the atmosphere there! It's so fun! Col;e even asked if he could sign my cast. :) NOT MAD!

I'm really sad, because I already feel my summer coming to a close. I start working for my dad on Thursday, and I fear that I'll be so tired I won't want to do anything. Blehh... We'll see. For now I'm just going to live it uppp. :)

The Adventure Johns.

Yesterday Madko, Miah and myself went to the Gunlock spillway to adventure, and had sooo much fun. We found a frog, climbed all over the mountain, swam in yucky water, and lost Maddie's shoes. It was so much fun, and I hope that we can take all of the J&J's back there soon!!

Fredrick. ♥

The other day, Chandler and I decided to take an adventure... so we floated down the river. It took us about three hours (I think...?) To get from point A to point B, but it was totes worth it!

While on our Journey I saw something move really fast down the side of the river bank. I freaked out and stopped to see what it was. I moved closer, and closer to the side of the river. At first I thought that what I was looking at was a rock, because it was huge and very smooth. I decided to take a little closer look, and I realized that it was... (By the way the whole time while I was freaking out Chandler just kept on asking "What's happening, what's happening?" but I never said anything...) A TURTLE! I freeeeaked out and started screaming because I LOVE Turtles! like a lot! I was really scared to touch it, but I did it anyway. I thought that he was stuck in some branches, so we got him loose and watched him swim away. It was the coolest thing ever! We decided to name him Fredrick, (Fred for short). It was a way awesome experience and I am SO happy that it happened!

BTW: The photo above is a picture of Fredrick's species of Turtle. (But it's not actually him, and I'm kicking myself in the bum for not having my camera with me at this majestic moment of life...) I looked up the traits that I remembered he had, and found out that he is a Fly River Turtle. Link

We Believe. (Late Post)

Youth Conference this year was SO much fun! We took a three day trip up to Snow College in Ephraim, UT. We played games most of the time. It was truely a Johners+Janers fest. It was so much fun! We talked with Brooklyn accents the whole time, and changed our names... we watched spongebob for countless hours and got eaten alive by bugs.

We had so much fun, and by the end of the trip I had an even stronger testimony of friends than I thought was possible. I am so grateful for the amazing friends that I have been blessed with right now, and over the past few years.

::Feature This:: Gotta own this floor with my mojo.

I've been watching a show called Platinum Hit lately. It's really gr8. It's a few somewhat amateur song writers who are competing for a record deal or something.... Anyway there are usually 3 songs written on each episode. Most of the time they turn out pretty good! This is my favorite one so far. :) "Paint This Club (With Amazing)" by

It's all about PERSPECTIVE.

Do you ever have those lessons that just scream, "This is for you! Shut up and listen!"?
Well I do. In fact, I get them all the time. In second fact I got one today! Here's the story...

Today in Young Womens, we got a lesson on PERSPECTIVE and ATTITUDE. These are the two things that either make or break a situation. When things don't go as planned, or you are afraid that they won't go as planned, you still need to have faith, and hope that everything will be alright.

There are countless examples of members of the church coping with Death, Illness and Tragedy. Some people take their challenges with a smile, and others just complain. Every experience in your life is what YOU make it. You can choose to be a downer, or you can live life as best as you can with your probs.

I think this was a great lesson, because it taught me that if I'm having a bad time, or depressed about something, it's only my fault and I can change it around if I wish to do so!

Well, that's my spiel.
P.s. I think this photo might actually go with the topic this time. :) And yes, it's supposed to be upside down.

We'll get it Yesterday.

OH MY WORD!

I am just so so so so so so so so EXCITED for Youth Conference tomorrow! I even packed my telephoto lens that's how excited I am!! (I never take it anywhere because it's too big, and too inconvenient.) I played with my friends all day today, and started to pack at 10:30 tonight. HA. Hopefully I didn't forget anything. I'm just stoked out of my mind! We are going to Snow College in Ephraim for 3 Days! It's going to be so boss! Most of the Johners are in my stake, which makes things even better! I wish we had more Janers... But we'll survive with Clody and Braden. Who knows... maybe we'll even find someone new to Haze into the group! Well... I'll be sure to take some gr8 photos for the maybe 10 people out there who read my blog... :) Bye!

::Feature this:: "Do I turn out alright?"

I have another recent obsession.... Thank you Britt Brink for hooking me onto Allstar Weekend. This is my favorite song right now! I love it soooo much. It's called "Journey to the end of my life." I'm pretty 99% sure that this is NOT Allstar Weekend in the video, but It's better than watching lyrics run across a screen... I guess.

Enjoy!

A Magic Forrest.

This morning I woke up at 4:30 to get ready for my first broken arm photoshoot! It was one of my friends brother, and his fiance. We shot out on the spillway of gunlock reservoir. It was such an amazing place to shoot! Even at 6:00 a.m.! The shoot went very well. It was def. the most dangerous shoot I have ever had, but it was so worth it! The spillway, and the river valley are amazing! I'm taking my friends there! It looks like a magical Forrest!

When I got home from the shoot, around 9:30 I edited for about 30 minutes then fell asleep haha. I woke back up around 10:30 and watched a show with my dad for a while.

My sister had a couple of friends over, and I played taxi driver for the day... I took them to the mall, and went to deposit my shoot money in the bank. My mom and I picked up some photos that I had ordered, and went to get my sister and her friend from the mall. We ended up staying at bath and body works for a good 45 minutes while my mother picked out soap... fun.

When we got home I was SO bored, so I made my sister and her friends ride bikes to the river with me. When we got home from that I edited for another 30 min. or so. Then I felt a swig run, so naturally I went.. ( the calcium, milk, and Vit. D diet isn't working...) Then I went walking with Brink. (It's kind of our new thing.) When we got done with our walk I decided to end my day. I watched like 5 episodes of Auction Hunters.

I know that this sounds like a semi-exciting day, but honestly... I've been bored out of my mind all week. I keep trying to find things to do, but nothing is fun when you're doing it by yourself! A good majority of my friends have been out of town this week, and it's been killing me! haha. Thank heavens a lot of them are coming home tomorrow! I think both Brink and I have missed our friends this week. Thank goodness we had each other! Everyone else being gone made the void of Elena even deeper on us too...

Anyway, this wasn't meant to be a complaining post but I guess it ended up that way. I think I needed to write down all of the things I actually did do, to show myself that this week wasn't a total waste haha. I will just be happy when my friends are home tomorrow. :)

All I really need is to breathe.

Today we tested out my skill... we traveled to Gunlock, which is where I'll be doing the engagement shoot tomorrow at 6:00 a.m.! We took a few family photos, and had fun looking at the valley. It is seriously SO amazing out there! It's like a magical Forrest! I think it's where I want my senior photos taken... but not sure yet. :) anyway... here are a few photos from tonight. It only took me 46 minutes to edit them all... with a broken arm that isn't too shabby.

Just give in. ♥

We're gonna dance all night because we say so.

What color do you want?

Hellooo. I have a new cast and I am super happy about it! I went to the doc. today, and this very, VERY attractive boy took my blue cast off. (So now Josh wasn't here any more. [That's the only thing I ever saw when I looked at my cast... so thanks.]) He used this magic saw that cuts cast material, but not skin. (It vibrates, instead of rotates.)

I got X-rays for what seems to be the 800th time. At this point my arm was SO unbelievably WEAK! I was way mad. I tried to turn my arm around the way that I would hold it with my violin in hand... impossible. I felt so vulnerable and helpless! It's been 5 weeks since I fell off the stage, and I would think that my arm would be really close to healed by now, but noooo. I have 3 more weeks.

The Doctor put on my new, waterproof, short, red cast, and it feels so much better than the old one. I love being able to bend my elbow... although it's so sore right now, because of that stupid trick thing I was doing with my cast. (You know... when it looked like I had 2 elbows?) The doctor said that it was just a side effect of the longer cast... but I don't think he knew what I had been doing, and I was too scurrrd to tell him. ha.

He put the cast on, and had me make another Appointment for June 29th, which is when I'll get my cast off for good! I'm excited, but really nervous. I saw my arm today, and it was so difficult even to hold it up. I still used my elbow to lift it. I'm going to be taking a break from the Swig, and live off of calcium pills, vitamin D, and milk for the next 3 weeks... Wish me luck with that ha.

One good thing that came from all of this, is that I can now manually focus my camera! I already have a shoot lined up! It's an engagement shoot, and I'm stoked. :) I think life is starting to turn normal again.

Anthro Love.

An item on my bucket list is to go shopping at Anthropologie. It is the POSHEST of all posh stores. This morning, I didn't really have a whole lot to do, so I wish-shopped. It was gr8. There are soooo many adorable things. I made 3 clothing collections this morning, all of which I want! Here they are in collage form. :)

The end of another chapter in the lives of the Johners.

This morning at 4:45, some of the J&Js woke up to go see Elena off at the Airport. It was such a sad sight to see. She became a huge part of our group. When the Gate woman came and told Elena it was time to go I just started to bawl. It was way too soon for her to go back home. She was here for so long, but it only seems like a couple of weeks. I think I took more photos in the past 48 hours, than ever before. I'll miss her so much. I wish that the rest of the Johners and Janers would have been able to be there at the Airport with us. The Pax lady told us that it was the biggest group of kids to see anyone off. I can believe it. :) We know how to send someone off. I'm so sad that Elena went home, but I know we'll see her again. :)
Hasta Luego Elena! Juan Lo!

I'm OBSESSED with the music of Michael Jackson. I love it so so so much! It all started with the Wii game Michael Jackson The Experience. I have been playing it with my friends for a couple of weeks, and it just gets stuck! I posted a couple of videos of one of my favorite songs, Dirty Diana. If you haven't played the MJ game... it's highly recommended. :)

We are Laurels.

Laurel Retreat was SO much fun!I am honestly, soooo glad that I went. I learned a lot, and realized a lot of things that I know were meant for me. Mad Ko, Britt Brink, Amy, Courtney and I just Johned it up the whole time!

It was such a spiritual experience, and I am so grateful for our leaders who put it on. I wish that every Laurel in my stake would have been there, because I think that everything said could pertain to each of our lives. President Lyman's talk got me the most. He told us not to compare ourselves to other girls. He stressed the fact that Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us the same amount, no one more than another.

Another part that I loved was the workshops. Sister Emmett taught us how to cook some deeeelicious food, and it seriously only took a few minutes. The best part was the "Guaranteed second date cake" haha. I'm def. making that again.

I also really loved Laurie and Phoebe's workshop. They taught us that we need to set aside our dreams of "Prince Charming", and we'll probably find something even better. We also learned that it's just as important to BE "the one" as it is to FIND "the one".

Brother King gave us this great lesson about our Self Worth. He made us describe what made something valuable, and showed us that we are each a divine Daughter of our Heavenly Father.

I loved Laurel retreat SO SO much, and I am so sad that I had to leave early. It was def. the best part of summer... so far. :)

The gr8est book that ever lived.

Every time I go to Seagull book, I find something to buy... This was today's pick. :) It's title kinda explains it... but It's a book of all the "must-dos" before you turn old. Some of the activities are...

64. Every Kid should play classic games.
77. Every kid should go to a baseball game with Grandpa.
85. Every kid should have a pen pal.
14. Every kid should go to a museum.

There are 97 more things to do in this book... and before Senior year is over, I'm going to do all of them... any friend who wants is welcome to join in!

I am really scared to grow up... as I have expressed to many of you, but if I have to do it, I'm going to get in all of the "little kid" things in that I can. :) If you're mad... you can just S.A.B.O.I.D.C.

The moment that every child, adolescent, teenager, and college student awaits. It's supposed to be a time of rest, relaxation, vacation, and absolute fun.

Regardless, it ends up being incredibly boring 90% percent of the time unless you enjoy sitting on your {bum} and playing Xbox 360 all week long. Which I don't.

Sophomore: Gee, I can't wait 'til summer break starts. All this school work is just ridiculous!

Thank you Urban Dictionary, for that scholarly description of Summer.

Really Though.....?

Summer is about FUN! Summer IS fun! I don't know about anyone else.... but I've been having SO much fun... My days have been filled with Durango"s, Just Dance (Which I dominate at B.T.W.), Swimming, Movies, Shopping, Dreams, Bucket Lists, and so much more.

I was talking to one of my friends last night, and we decided that we just do the SAME things over, and over, and over again.... And we really do. I'm so not mad though, I decided. Sure, sure... I need to search out an adventure sooner or later... but I'm not sure if any of you realize or not... It's only like... the 7th day of Summer. We have time.

Well this is summer spiel numero uno... There will be many more to come. :) Hopefully with pictures next time. :)
